Extended warranty

I'm very thankful for the standard hill start feature on the VI 77TSi which we didn't get on the V GTI

MkVs from MY08 onwards had hill start assist.

DSG. Perhaps it was MY09 only. The brochures for the GT had it listed but my GT doesn't have HSA.
My MY09 Pirelli has it though.

My 2008 MY09 had it I'm pretty sure. Never rolled back and the brake pedal would lock up/go hard like it had applied itself when i would be in a situation to roll back.

Yep, that's exactly how the HSA works on my Golf R. But my 2008 MY08 GTI didn't have it, so it must've been introduced in the MY09 models.

I really never considered keeping my car past 3 years (had her just over 12 months now) but I do enjoy driving it and think that no matter what I will probably keep it 5 years and then think about upgrading to something a little quicker I have been wondering about extending the warranty... because of the things that have already been replaced under warranty and also because of the DSG and what I expect will be replaced under warranty in the future....
I got an inital quote of $2450 which was then reduced to $1850 as "the lowest" they could do - this was one phone call and then I was emailed the lower price. Some of the prices I have seen have been a lot lower but they seem to be a year or two old.. Anyone have a better current price?
And any reason why spending the extra cash would simply be a waste of money?

Thanks I did look at that thread.. the last comment by someone was that the contacts were not current so I wasn't sure.

There hasn't been any updates for months and anyway it's under "Mk5 Golf & Jetta".

You could try the following guy. He gave me a retail quote, don't know if he does discounts or not.
