Chat with a dealer as well, I found out the general Allianz one = a lot more hassle when you need to make a claim (i.e. they need to send people out to inspect the problem and report before they spend money (similar to claiming on house damage), and they may pull any old part from another wreck to use as a cheap replacement. With VW genuine you don't have those delays and all parts come new from the factory.

I talked with the service chick before purchasing the allianz one, wanted her opinion. She said they had never had any issues dealing with the Allianz warranty vs the VW one. When I told her the price she basically said, go for it at that price, the only difference is no VW roadside assist (no worries, is all RAC anyway).

    Extended Warranty in WA

    Alright guys (and girls)

I know this topic has been done before but I can't find the answers to my specific questions.

I have bought a Golf R awaiting delivery and was looking at extended warranties. As these change quite regularly, can anyone tell me where in WA have you found to have the best place to get the VW warranty or even the Allianz new car extended warranty for the best price.

If I have to I will look over east to see if I can get a better deal but thought it might be easier to get it here.

So far I have got a cheapest quote of $2,177 for the genuine VW 2yr extension but only $1700 for the Allianz generic new car extended warranty as most dealers due other crap warranties not worth the paper they are written on.

Any help or advice would be awesome.

    Cheers.

I bought my the VW New Vehicle Extended warranty when I purchased my 2010 GTI late 2011. The cost was $1,500.

The policy is underwritten by Alliance.

I had a few hiccups with the GTI since purchase - e.g. faulty waterpump etc. The extended warranty is well worth it as I didn't have to pay a thing.

Another good thing is that you DO NOT have to have your car serviced through a VW dealer to keep the warranty. Just use an independent and have your vehicle serviced as per the warranty guidelines and save of servicing costs!

If it is an extended warranty it wont actually start until the end of the VW Dealers normal warranty period Have look on the documents It should have a start date which is 3 years or 150,000k from date you bought a new car

It is actually an Allianz policy How long is it for is what matters, rather than the price.

Wouldn't that be covered by the VW new vehicle warranty? After all, it would be less than the 3 year standard VW warranty when the water pump failed. Any extended warranty kicks in at the end of the VW one.
