    I'm assuming the S3 cooler is being utilised because its lighter than a THS, Eurojet, APR and does what Seb needs it to do.

    the 17inch wheel work with the brakes , I havent finished installing the brakes due to the caliper bracket not fitting correctly .

    S3 is on the back burner until some other cars are finished .

    Swapping out the front mount is not the only thing I do to the front end when its all apart .
    A waste is also something that you regret doing , I have no regrets going S3 front mount over a Eurojet/APR etc front mount .

    Thats exactly it , you dont want to add extra weight + engine lag on an engine part when its within spec of what you want it to do . Its like putting on bigger brakes on a track car and you have never experienced any brake fade . Its just creating more rotational mass that the engine has to move when accelerating that just slows acceleration down and you wont gain any advantage when you brake cause you never reached the potential of the old brakes !

    As for me jogging , lol , I just build/test the cars . Courtney will be doing most of the driving , and yes she is doing all the jogging for me .

    Fair enough re the intercooler Bug_racer.

    Though I'm not sure the brake example is a good one. There are significant weight savings on GTI's and R's (even Polo GTI's) from going from the stock brakes to Alcon or Brembo etc. On the Polo GTI there is 8kg on each of the front wheels, and I believe with the Golf R it's a similar saving. That includes the caliper though, so admittedly I'm not sure the difference in rotational mass, just unsprung mass.

    My relation was more so the upgrading of the disc size to a larger unit e.g. Golf 5 gti from 312mm to an R32 size 343mm or a Polo gti from 288 to 312mm . Changing over to a 2 piece rotor will give you some weight saving , although thats a different topic in itself .

    Intercooler is on
    intake has been carbon cleaned as well , Im suprised it needed doing as well but the first thin layer had already developed on the intake valves and the intake manifold dividers so I thought Id better clean it .
    RS4 Valve fitted
    Autotech fuel pump fitted
    Tune loaded
    Front end has been modified for a bit more airflow as well , extra radiator removed
    Now I should have the brakes fitted tonight / tomorrow

    That should be it for a little while as my MK3 needs to be finished now !

    Ive finally gone for a drive and wow what an amazing difference
    The acceleration is a lot more brutal from 3000rpm onwards all the way till redline
    Its slightly jerkier down low but a lot more responsive at the same time
    One thing I noticed compared to last time it was raced was the reaction of the DSG was longer,I can see why people do the DSG flash now.
    Overall to drive around town its no different but when you put your foot down it has a lot more get up and go!!
