The equipments showed on ETKA doesn't match the vehicle.

Recently checked the VIN number of my car via ETKA and found that my car originally equipped with 18" Detroit wheels, but I have 17" Denver on my car since purchase. The car was a showroom demo, maybe the price I paid doesn't include the Detroit, but still very curious about is it alright for dealers to remove original accessories fitted from manufacturer and replace them by other parts.

BTW, do I need to ask dealer to adjust the trip computer of my car as it may be not accurate anymore.

Dealers will often swap wheels over on floor stock, whether to upgrade someone on another vehicle or to downgrade on the current vehicle. The only restriction was probably on the Mk6 R for someone wanting an upgrade as the steering rack was adjusted and plastic extensions were placed on cars shod with the 19s from factory. There is no issue with this at all unless someone was promised one thing and delivered with the other!

Hello mate, thanks for the clarification, there is one thing I still not quite understand which is after the wheel has been swapped, will the dealer change the wheel settings stored in the trip computer of the car or not.

You need to know the profile of the tyres to know if the rolling circumstance was different thus needing the speedo adjusted.
A change of 5 in the profile xxx/x5-Rxx is about 1" in rim size.

There is no need as the size variation is minimal (0.46%) - tyre wear will potentially impact more than this.

    For the record the Denver's should be 225/45/17 on 17 x 7 ET51 and the Detroits would have been 225/40/18 on 18 x 7.5 ET51.
