    elastic band attachment in boot...

    Hey Veedubbers,

sorry for the noobish question but.... does anyone know what this elastic band thing is for? (see photo) Seems to be an unhookable bracket behind it too... I skimmed through the manual and couldnt find anything about it.

one again, sorry for the silly question - I'm sure its obvious...

    cheers

Your pic is not working, but I'm guessing you are referring to the inner left side of the boot? If so that where the (mandatory in Germany) first aid kit and warning triangle goes.

You can buy them aftermarket if you like, via online resellers or eBay. Here's a pic of them in our Mk5:

Odd that the first aid kit is included in some models but not in others... because I have both the kit and the triangle in our Multivan. Wonder what the reasoning behind that is.

Personally I think every car should have these as well as a fire extinguisher as standard equipment, but then maybe that's just me.

The reason could be that Multivan can carry more passengers.
