Exclamation 2011 Build Mk6 GTI - LED Lights, Push Button Start?

    Hey guys,

I know with each new year build on cars, they generally add a few very minor updates to them.

I heard awhile back that the 2011 Build cars for the Mk6 GTI, which normally start coming into the country after July. Will start coming with the LED Rear Tail lights and push button start (smart key entry?)

Has anyone heard anything regarding this from overseas versions of the GTI?

2011 'build' wont be until 2011. MY2011 might start from July however.

As for LED rears? I doubt it. Push button perhaps.

    Sorry I stand corrected.

Where did these rumors start? as I cant seem to find any country which is selling the GTI with Smart Keys and push button start?

and have any dealers on here, or anyone for that fact, heard anything about LED Rear Lights being even an option on the MY2011 builds?

my understanding was that the passat line in the US had smart key option...maybe they are replicating this for the Golf R in the US only? hence the pic?

The rumours for both of these originated several months ago from the frankfurt motorshow where they showed the R, and also from the Worthersee Edition GTI which had the LED rear lights.

However, after these rumours started VW then announced that the LED rear lights would be a VW option or accessory for GTI's - practically killing any chance that they will be a standard inclusion on the GTI.

As for the push button start/smart entry - I have never seen anything officially stated about this in relation to the Golf.

Even the toyota corrolla has push to start lol

Im about to pay 3 times the amout of a corrolla for a GTI and its still using the regular old fashioned key! lol

Not that its a big deal. My GFs 1 series has it and i dont know if i like it.. I just feel a little left behind!!

Interesting that there is a Golf R picture above with the push button start?

Do we know if the NZ R has it? (seeing as its out already)
