Everyone's entitled to their point of view.

Although I love the M3, I know that a lot of people think that the new M3 is too heavy, and hence why BMW seem to be doing everything to make a 1 series which can take the place of the 'old M3' for those light weight afficianado's. So I guess, one could argue, as the author has, that the GTI is better than an M3.

I don 't believe someone in the comments tried to say that the WRX would be a better all rounder than the GTi.... I couldn't handle the WRX's stiff/jolty clutch an excessive turbo lag day in day out.....

... So after the cool title, how is the GTI better than the M3 exactly?

Is it only because he can afford one and not the ///M?

If you were to flip it on it's head for a second, and imagine the m3 was the cheaper car, would the GTI still be better? Nope. Lol @ that blog

the only thing that I might think is that GTI is better value for money but then again you dont by Rolex coz it shows better time

    p.s.
only drove M3 as a pasanger and ..... it was fast!

    Agree to disagree

Having driven both E46 and E92 M3s, I'd have to disagree with this blog author. I appreciate the sentiment behind it re affordability and weight but if you are just comparing the driving experience, the M3 is in another league to the GTI.

Throttle response, steering feel, cornering grip, controlability are all streets ahead in the M3 not to mention the glorious noise of the straight six and V8 engines.

But let's be honest, an M3 costs three times as much as a GTI so that's the way it should be!
