    Dynaudio on Golf Wagon?

    Hi all,

I'm curious as to what the 10 speaker system is on the Golf Wagon and how I can go about getting the bits for it aftermarket. Is this also a dynaudio system like the mark VIs use as I understand that this is a mark V fitment given the 10 speakers in the door vs. the 8 on the VI?

I'm not keen on modifying my brand new car physically, other than running cable for the installation of the amp under the seat - if it's to factory spec, hence my interest in the genuine premium system.

Where can I start looking for these parts?

    Cheers!

The MK6 standard stereo AND Dynaudio are both 8 speakers.

Not sure how to answer about the Golf Wagon, as it's part MK6, part MKV. Just not sure what parts are what!

The doors in the wagon are of mark V design. The wagon brochure claims that the upgraded stereo uses a 300W amp and 10 speakers but doesn't give reference to the Dynaudio Excite system as referred to on the Golf brochure. It's simply called "Volkswagen Sound".

The standard system on the wagon is 8 speakers.

I don't know whether it's advisable/doable to put the 8 speaker excite system in, but that doesn't sound as clean to me as going for the 10 speaker system I would have liked to option with the car in the first place.

    Cheers!

Well, the number of drivers is not necessarily indicative of quality. Some of the world's best audio systems costing well over the cost of even the most expensive Volkswagen use only a single driver per channel (i.e. 1 driver for left speaker and 1 for right). But I don't have enough info on the wagon.

There are plenty of options for aftermarket that will be both cheaper and sound better than the factory audio upgrade. There's also no cutting or modification required that can be so the car looks completely stock. Even then there's very little if any required behind the scenes. Just make sure you have the gear fitted by someone that's worked on vehicles with a canbus in the past, preferably with VW experience.

No need for 10 speakers either. 8 will suffice or 9 if you're into a little doof doof action.
