Hey guys - a while back, I'm *sure* I saw a thread on these forums about fitting larger DSG paddles to the steering wheel of the Golf R. I'm pretty sure they were brushed aluminium paddles from the Audi S3. For the life of me I can't find the thread, which I'm certain had pictures posted.
Does anybody know where that thread is? Every search for "DSG paddles" comes back with a heap of results.

2nd time this issue has happened to me .... Not the 2nd time I've stamped on the loud pedal!
In DSG Sport mode - foot flat to the floor - in 2nd concentrating on the road - hits rev limiter - splutters & then goes into 3rd ...
I can only assume this is a DSG problem? Some may say I shouldn't cane it?
Thoughts (on the issue, not me) appreciated?

It's been mentioned by several R owners. I've experienced it once in 7k, others have experienced it multiple times. I can't remember specifically (and don't have time to look for you) but at least one member has reported this to the dealer and had the car booked in for a DSG software upgrade. I can't remember if they've reported back to say whether they've experienced it again or not.
At the same time, another member reported this to the dealer and were told there is no software update for the R...
Either way, I suggest you report it to your dealer.
Please let us know how you go though!
Yeah I think last count was about 5 times, first 3 under full throttle and turning hard right, last 2 under normal light acceleration and also turning right. No DSG update. Done ~9000kms.
Solution is to only turn left lol
I've had this issue a few times and it only happens when the car is corning and the gearbox has to change gears at high revs . The last time it happened I was looking at the console and saw the traction control light come on very briefly. It might have been one of the wheels spinning or losing traction in the corner so it cut power. It's never happened when up shifting in a straight line though....good for WSID

I've had this issue once or twice too, normally hard cornering accelerating hard in first then the change to second results in a power cut, which I took to being a traction control issue (TC light was on) Though as this occurs at high RPM wonder if the over zealous TC might cause drive shaft damage if this occurred frequently?? Didn't think it was a DSG issue!

Drooped into Wangara yesterday & spoke to Zac (I know its not his name but he had Zac's work shirt on) who is the resident DSG guru - my words not his!
In a nutshell it is likley that due to the slippery conditions there was a momentary lack of traction that caused the rev's to jump. As the engine was already high in the red zone this casued it to 'over-rev' & hit the limiter.
I've been trying to replicate it in the dry with no success

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this. I've had the 118TSI almost a month and was only able to take it for a longer drive for the first time today. Everything was sweet on the motorway... Then experienced what seemed like a gearbox failure when slipping back into stop/start traffic.
Basically, I'm in DSG mode and come to a stop in traffic. When I try to take off there is no power (foot is down but no revs at all) and almost feels like the car is stuck in neutral but is still able to 'creep' forward but nothing more. The green brake light starts flashing. I slip back into D mode and off DSG, and the D on the MFI starts flashing also. Turn off the ignition and restart, and everything is running fine again. It happened for the first time last week and twice just today.
Anyone know what's causing this? I'm not so much a technical car person so I'm unsure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's something to do with the DSG?
