REXman, have you had it again? Did you talk to the dealer?
    Hey Corey,

No such luck yet man. I havent had the day or two needed to get this done.

It hasnt done it again, and I took it for that solid run with my mates GTR.. no slippages during or since.. Maybe it just wants WOT for about 30 mins and the DSG to be HAMMERED?

Now, if it just cooks me some ****en eggs we'll be sweet!

I felt almost the same, maybe 6/10 in D mode. HPSOV, we spent 3500 bucks on good sound, over 12K on options, we should consider Stage 1 a necessity. Budget for $1700 post sale or arrange during and include in the lease. I've been using for a couple of weeks and the R is quite simply, a different car. The DSG in D is now 9/10. quick, responsive - aggressive when i choose. S mode is manic.
Corey, I wouldn't call the gear slip an 'issue' quite yet.

Your car missing gears going through a round a bout and not being able to get back in gear till your half way down the street, is a bit strange to me.

    It's an issue, definitely.

just not a major one cause no one has reported a prang as a result.

not an issue, yet, as we on this forum are but a very small % of those who have bought R's and not all of us R owners in this forum experience major gear slippage. how many times did you crunch gears with the manuel you once owned and did that crunching cause any issues to the tranny years later?? for me it was heaps and never...... DSG has been designed to take a pounding, believe me... a slip here and a thud there will not do any damage to the gear box. and like yourself and me, 'IT' doesn't get through the gears as smoothly as we would like, every now and again.

I'd consider intermittent and random loss of drive or missing gears an issue, and I'd be getting it looked at. There is a difference between a the driver making a mistake with a manual box and an automated box making the mistake - they're not designed to make those kind of errors. I've had a DSG since 2005 and never experienced it, and if I did it would reduce my confidence in the car.

I've never experienced the slippage. and even with those that have it is a rare occurrence. But by all means, if happening, get it looked into. As an experienced DSG driver, whats your overall opinion?

It's not the slippage that I'm referring to, it's the box deciding to give you neutral whilst the car is on the move that would worry me.

The 1st gear shunt / delay that everyone notices the first time you drive a DSG is no problem, you simply get used to it and learn to adjust.

No problems with my DSG to date - enjoying the gearbox so far

My only small complaint would be the HUGE difference between D and S mode.

That said, when I want to drive more aggressively I ignore S mode and take control of the gear changes.

Happened to me today. Approaching a corner on trailing throttle and just as I turned in the car went into neutral then it grabbed 3rd and it then seemed to over rev for that gear.
