Adaptions are unlikely to help - that's to (re)learn clutch clamping pressures etc. The issues described sound like mechatronic problems.

I'd be taking it to a VW dealer. Depending on the service history of the car (how comprehensive it is, where all the work was performed), it may be possible to request at least a partial goodwill claim with VWA. But you won't know until you speak to a dealer about it.

Failing that, a VW specialist independent (ref Recommended Repairers and Parts Suppliers) should be able to source you a mechatronic and fit it.

I've got a weird screech when the DSG shifts in my passat. Am wondering if anyone with a Golf has similar issues? DSG screech?

    Failed clutch

    Hey guys.

Local vw stealer have advised my dsg clutch needs replacing. I was told it was the mechatronic unit however they said clutch. If not clutch whole gearbox.

    130k on it mk6 gtd.

Curious can I get second hand box?

I can get one from a mk6 tdi 103tdi with 60k with clutch and mechatronic unit for alot less.

    Vw want 3k clutch fitted
    10k gearbox fitted

I can get second hand for $1200 for the lot from a friend with rear end write off.

    Doable?

How old is your mk6? Did VW agree to cover some of the cost? Who said clutch and who said mechatronic?

If you need a mechanic to get anything done cheaper than Cricks, you can use Northern Volks at Warana.

Yeah I've used them before for my Scirocco R - forgot about them to be honest.

2010 GTD, 130k on clock. Had 60k and 120k gearbox services done but "oil is black".

Two different mechanics at VW - they rang their specialist support team in Sydney who advised clutch/gearbox.

Symptoms are clunk when going between park > reverse and back + park to D, D > R etc flashing PRDS lights

I am awaiting on a response to see if VW Goodwill will come to the party and replace the box - could be a few days before I hear back.

If not I think I'll get the second hand box, get northern volks to fit and sell the bloody thing

They've been better lately. I got my mechatronic replaced free at 4.5 years age on my passat. But then again they did state they extended the drivetrain warranty to 5 years / 150k kms. Lucky to get it approved on a MY10 car though.

Hi, just wondering has anyone got their flywheeel replaced? I just had my clutch pack replaced on 2010 118TSI DSG, and there's still shuddering issues from 1-2. I looked through the parts list and don't see a flywheel, talked to a friend who's been driving a manual al his motoring life, and he suggested that I should have the flywheel replaced as well. Has anyone done this?

Question Need help! MK6 R DSG reversing gear rev issues, jumps, touchy accelerator.

    2011 MK6 R. 120kkms. Has REVO stage1. No other mods.
When DSG in reverse gear, on flat ground the car rolls back very slowly without touching any pedal, gave it a bit gas and the rev jumps like 500~1000, and the car picked up speed suddenly, accelerator pedal seems very sensitive, but it drives normal when in drive mode. anyone experienced the same? Suggestion please?

Was it the same when you were on a stock tune? It could just be DSG. I know DSG's don't like to "slip".
