Sucks, but at least they're replacing it instead of trying to repair it.

about 3 weeks, I guess some people waited 12 months after ordering their cars and yes a new one is better than a fixed one. Just have to wait and see how VW plan on compensating me.

Isn't this the reason why people went with DSG over manual. I remember back in the beginning of the MK5 days this topic was always discussed DSG vs 6MT.

nathang, I only just saw this post.

Yes I have contacted the ACCC regarding issues of this nature as well as consumer affairs. The only way that consumer affairs can help is if you are willing to sit idle until a solution/resolution is found. If you cannot do this, they can only refer you to your local conflict resolution department, ie QCAT.

    Golf r dsg

Is it normal for the dsg on my new golf r my13 to go so slow when in D. Have to use too much throttle when taking off at the lights. Was in the shopping centre car park and car slowed down crawling about 3km and was still in 2nd gear, should't it change down to first at that speed. But when changed to manual mode useing paddles goes better same with sports auto.

Sounds about normal. DSG pretty much stays in 2nd unless you stop completely. It can be very annoying if you need to give the car a bit of throttle to get across a busy street or something. It's either got no revs, or if you give it enough throttle to kick back into first, you find yourself launching like a drag race. It takes some getting used to, but once you learn to drive the car to match the transmission, it becomes less of an issue.

If it really gives you the irrits, there are some tuning companies who can re-program the DSG to make it more pleasant in this regard.
