Hey Comegetsome. The Golf's have a pretty good logging system and you can (often) plug them into the diags and retrieve the errors from events thave have occured recently. So the errors are not necessarily happening right now. It could be a situation where they just need to "reset" the DSG and you'll be fine. It could also be a case where one of the solenoid valves in the Mechatronics unit attached to the DSG is bonkers and the Mechatronics unit needs to be replaced. Unfortunately when dealing with mechanical valves and stuff, this can happen. Thankfully VW have made it easy to change just that unit and not the entire gearbox.

I wouldn't stress too much yet, I'm sure the dealer will sort it out great for you

Coreying you hit the nail on the head! The Mechatronics unit needs to be replaced!!! This may also explain another issue where when the car is cold there is a shudder through the car at 80km/h, then when it warms up it disappears.

Not sure how I feel about this though, as this car was a definate upgrade to what I perceived as a higher quality product from my previous (French) cars. My future enjoyment and happiness has taken a hit from this.

    CGS

Well... It really makes me wonder why people think if you spend more $ on a car that it won't ever have an issue. I mean, even a $1 million Maybach still comes with a warranty... and sometimes you need it!

So true, the other part is how the company responds to the issues when they show up. In my experience, VW handles issues quite well compared to other companies I've had the misfortune of dealing with.

I can only hope VW handle there business as well as SUBARU.

When I had a rattle - drove in, told the guys where it was coming from - bam rattle gone. Just how it should be!

Further, some of the first early MY09 WRX had a spun bearing issue. How did Subaru fix this?

You drove your car in, they listened to the sound and checkede it out. They gave you a loan car while you waited - and they didnt repair your car, pull apart the engine or anything like that.

They crated one in from JAPAN, as literally new engine in a crate, pulled out your motor and replaced the whole thing.

They then take the old motor and have to drill this massive stamp onto it and discard it.

Thats how Subaru does it. Awesome after service for a bad error.

Hope that GTI petition results in VW fixing peoples engineering problem.

I look after servicing on my parents Mk5 due the dealer being near work. In 3yrs it has had some very minor issues and they were always resolved without issue.

Ford crated one in from broadmedows for one of my cars. They would have denied trying to fix it their true useless customer is always a wrong idiot style but were left without the option because I punched a hole in the side of the block courtsey of a wandering rod

Nissan weren't much better than Ford. Their clowns managed to get more oil over the engine than inside of it! Though I only went once, couldn't bring myself to let them have a 2nd chance.

As usual not all dealers are created equal. nice to see Ford hasn't changed. a long while ago. my escort caught fire while being serviced, Ford had a recall, shortly after, but they left me without a car for a month, while they repaired it. - good example of customer care (never bought a Ford since). Holden were very good at repairing too many things too mention over 3 cars that were almost lemons.

As for the dealer I bought the car from, so far indifferent, 2 out of 3 issues fixed, but didn't see was I was a little upset when told I should wait 3 weeks to get the AC fixed on my 2 day old GTI in the middle of summer.

Car going next week , due to a small leak from the water pump, minor oil leak from the turbo and the auto ac recirc. doesn't activate in traffic, allowing smells to enter the cabin. lets see what happens this time.
