Well DSG is starting to really piss me off at least in the polo, doing 60km slowing down to under 20km/h to turn into a side street and the freaking DSG stays in 5-6th gear so you go to accelerate and the car goes no where, you slowly increase the throttle hoping it will soon change gear but no so you push down a little more then it slams it into second and off you go.
Driving in S mode is pretty much perfect apart from it staying in 4th gear when it could be upshifting to 5-6-7th during cruise but this is obviously how the mode works, it's the mode I am mostly driving the polo in now.
Me too!
Until this thread came along I never had to think about which direction to use in manual mode, Ive always felt right with down for slower and up for faster.
Having driven mostly 5 speeds in my younger days, on the open road it would be 5th DOWN to 4th to pass.
In the city it was 3rd DOWN to 2nd for a quick squirt.
Also years of using a joystick on Flight Sim, one would pull BACK to go up and hence decrease speed and push FORWARD to go down and faster.
Now after all the feedback in this forum I have to THINK about what I'm doing. Thanks a lot :emo_baghead:
Just get your brain to align the gear stick to the accelerator pedal ie forwards for faster. Problem solved.
Hi all,
I did a search before posting this issue.
My month old GTD wouldn't engage a gear when in either D, R or S after getting back in car. Cycled back into P a couple of times still no gear engagement. MFD shows D1 but the car revs like in N. No forward creep or anything. No error codes were displayed. Rang Roadside Assist, he said to turn-off, lock car, unlock and then restart. It worked normally then. He suggested that it is the start of future recurrences of same fault. Taking it to VW soon so they can look at error codes (if any).
Any ideas?

Been to VW. Through up several error codes. Left my car there as they need to consult with Germany, doesn't sound good!
