Is it actually loose (do you feel flex if - gently! - applying upward force at the unhinged end of the door), or does it just require lubrication? There's a fair bit of grease on the hinges; that may wear away with time, washing, etc etc.
Anyone else had a loose door hinge? Mine clunks a few too many times when opening and closing.

Nope, just checked again, I can actually see the hinge moving on the door.
My driver's door lower hinge looked like it wasn't tightened properly at the factory. They were only finger tight. It took about 10,000km/6 months to become apparent. Since being tightened by the dealer it seems an annoying whistle that was worst in wet weather.
JFTR, car is a 2-door, built in July 2010.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.
yes, my driver's door hinge came loose in the last few days. a couple of the bolts were completely loose
took it back to the dealer this morning "...that's unusual..." they said. "Have you had any panel work done on your car ?"
No, it is a 14month old GTI that's done 18000kms
Age and distance are irrelevent in the grand scheme of things.
Did they take care of it for you?
