Original Varta battery ( 5KO 915 105D) is struggling a bit and will probably soon go off to rest. Sitting at 11.5v most of the time (12.1v after 24 hr charge with CTEK) , but still starts the car, I expect this Winter will be the end for it.
I like the Optima D35 Yellow, just because I think it might last longer than the 5 years I have gotten from the Varta (not that 5 years is bad). Also, I often listen to the Stereo without the engine running.
I like the neat fit of the Varta battery, it is 240 x 170 x 170, so will the Optima fit in nicely and will the hold down brackets work?
I couldn't be bothered buying a new battery box or anything like that, so would get another Varta if it is not a drop in fit for the Optima.
Anyone fitted a D35 ?
Thanks

Battery size of original in your car is a DIN 55... The battery you want to fit has the same footprint but is 25mm taller...
I own a diesel which takes a DIN 66 (which aside from the bigger footprint is the same height as the battery you want to fit - 195mm)... No bonnet clearance issues...
Should be OK...

Bought the yellow top, fits fine, even the oem battery cover fitted. About $300 which is good too.
