    Edit - replacing the DSG with a manual gearbox

    We'll be all gathering at the Garage Cafe this Friday for our monthly meet up so if you are able to find time pop in and meet some of the guys. Usually get quite alot of R's, GTI's and the odd Skoda turning up.

    One thing this thread is missing is the very important factor of torque and power on the process

    The turbo enhanced vehicles (diesel and petrol) appear, by logic, more capable of dealing with the misbehaviour of the DSG

    Just an observation I'm throwing out there

    As opposed to a non-turbocharged Mk6, you mean?

    Seriously though, the 6-speed DSG does seem to have fewer issues. That's the gearbox they fit to the *cough* ballsier *cough* Golfs, with > 250Nm.
