Driving in the S transmission on the DSG mk6

Hey i just bought my golf gti mk6 recently, and when im driving in the S transmission in 3rd gear, sometimes when i brake too hard ( just a little more than normal, not lik full pressing the brakes down or anything) my car makes a realli loud BOOM noise when changing down to 2nd gear, and the car acts as if it was stalling. This has only happened betweeen the 3rd gear and the 2nd gear. But driving in DSG or auto this doesnt happen. It has happened only when i drive in the S transmission. Since this has occured a few times i havent been driving in the S.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal cause im pretty sure its not and i would like to know if anyone has the same problems as me and how to solve it?

    Thanks

My experience with a Mk6 DSG in S is that you should be getting a delicious blip of the throttle as the car smoothly changes down from 3rd to 2nd gear.

Not sure about that but i've noticed in S-mode it doesn't tend to go over 4th gear, is that correct?

Surely that depends how fast you are going. Its very aggressive so will maintain fourth at quite high speeds... I've never driven it fast enough to see how high...only tried S mode once so far.

    I'll have to RTFM..

but was holding it in 4th cruising at say 80km/hr.

From my experience 80km/h isn't fast enough for S to shift out of 4th either Plenty more power left there before it will need to shift to give you more...

Yeah - it always keeps it in a gear which will allow for instant aggressive acceleration.

As for the OP's question. It shouldn't create a BOOM between 3rd and 2nd on downshifts - so maybe you should get one of your dealers service guys to have a drive with you and demonstrate this to them

My Mk5 liked 4th in S mode well up to and past 140. Will be interested to see the difference in the Mk6.
