You should lay back anyway so you don't cop a facefull of dirty çrap from those dirty PD engines.

The DPF equipped CR engines can still dump soot, too - I followed a (obviously) diesel Q7 one day and the soot that came out of the tailpipes every time it took off was appalling and somewhat embarrassing.

haha! I was actually looking for and relying on the soot dump to give me an indicator how soon and hard Scotty exited the corners. Guess that's kinda cheating but I didn't know the road all that well. Another thing I learnt on the day is your car can be tooooooo!!! low for some roads!!! Hehehe!

There have been some interesting innovations in trying to get an engine mor like a diesel to run petrol.

Just an article plucked from google
Making Diesel Engines Burn Gasoline | Autopia | Wired.com

Diesel can sound good, it's the current petrol 4cyl that doesn't sound particularly impressive, considering it replaced the glorious note of the R32.

Isn't performance and tractability what matters?

Maybe a noise generator is all that is needed to satisfy?

p.s. you WILL be bringing the blue beastie along this weekend right, rob? should be a good cruise, fingers crossed the weather smiles upon us

You could always bag your car except it would need to lift instead of drop. hehe!

When we last spoke I said I was coming this weekend but it all went quiet about it for a while. Between then and now an event which is hard to organise everyone and everything came together unfortunately this weekend. We leave this Friday so I'm going to miss the cruise. Wish I could be in two places at the same time!!
