More than likely a week 51 2009 Build
I got the same.
Hi
I have been given a delivery date of 30 March for my car ordered on 31/12/09
Does this seem realistic?
I guess it will be 2010 plated
Is there anyway to confirm this?
What are others experiencing.
Thanks

Mine, ordered Mid-December 2009, has build scheduled for week 7 (February) 2010 for a delivery around mid to late April.
It's my understanding that they start building in Feb in the new year, so your's would likely be a 2009 build as it takes approx 14 weeks to get it here.
I'm thinking it would've already been on the way here as unallocated stock and that's why you're getting it reasonably quickly.
I could be wrong though.
This is testing the memory and therefore I could be wrong, but while it may not be a 2010 build, it should be a 2010 plated car as from my experience with the Mk5 GTi they are plated once they arrive here.

I wonder if they are crapping me as I bought through privatefleet. i wonder if I'll get close to the time and the delays will start.....

This has been brought up quite a lot recently in various threads.
If your car is built in 2009, regardless of whether its plated 2010 (compliance), it's a 2009 vehicle and will be valued as such when trading/selling/insuring.

It depends on whether they are actually building a new car for your order or they are selling you one that was already scheduled to be built (or had actually been built and is on its way).
Ask for the VIN and get on the shipping tracking site (plenty of threads here tell you how to do it). If it is already on the water then that tells you it is a 2009 build. Yes, it will have a 2010 compliance plate, but valuers assess resale value for secondhand cars mainly on build date.
The VIN is allocated at the time they schedule the car for build (ie up to 10 days before it is built), so if the dealer won't give you the VIN then ask why not.
If it hasn't been scheduled for build already then I wonder how they will be able to schedule the build, actually build it, deliver it to the shippers, sail it across to Oz, get it through Patricks Oz compliance process and do a PD by 30 March. Possible, but unlikely IMO.

thanks for great advice. I have afeeling that my delivery date will be much later as I have added ACC 18" etc. So car will be built to order. Not too fussed on 09/10 debate as always seem to keep my cars for 10 years ( the ones I like).
