    December VW Golf Sales

    Two numbers really stand out in the following for me

    38,000 VW's in 2010 sold in Australia and of those 3742 were performance Golfs!!! (GTI & R)

    I wonder if that's based on contracts signed or cars delivered?

    There's certainly a massive backlog of orders...

    It's on cars delivered. They have the be registered etc to be counted.

    and the 315 special edition all will be sold easily Focus RS....

    But that explains why every time I see a MK6, its a bloody GTI lol

    Can't be, I live in the Melbourne CBD, there are more 118TSI's than GTI's.

    Maybe everyone interested is waiting for someone else to buy and take a hit on the initial depreciation.

    leme see - I've seen about 4 other 118 TSI's - lots of 103 TDI's, and lots more GTI's

    I think I saw my first R on the road the other day going into Burnley tunnel yesterday arvo - was a silver one of all colours) (Either that or someone changed their rear lights to the LED ones - that's the only way I noticed it).

    In the first list I would've liked to have seen VW a bit higher up, but I guess that means my car isn't too "common" yet.

    If you look at the servicing cost of VW's, they're far too high in the first 100,000km's to be too much higher up IMO. If you asked Ford/Holden/Toyota etc drivers to pay what VW owners do for servicing even upto 60k with things like the DSG etc, they'd fall over.
