new software update done. couldnt notice any difference in fuel consumption.
in light odf this issue, my new habit is now to use only BP ultimate
I had the "Service Campaign 24S4" ECU software loaded today. The fuel in the tank at the moment is a 50:50 mix of Caltex 95/98 and on my drive home today there was no noticeable reduction in fuel economy based on the average of 5.5 l/100km (which is about as good as it gets for the drive home) or bottom end torque based on how it pulled up a couple of gradients in 7th.
Now if they could only release a SW load that eliminated those small interior trim noises that come and go...........

24S4 refers to the campaign ( its just a code that gets written on the campaign sticker on the a pillar ) so that in years to come you know that its had the update carried out.
Its my belief that the software update is to combat the number of 118tsi's failing and then requiring the entire engine to be replaced.
hope it helps
Taken delivery of my 118 today, and the campaign has already been completed at the factory earlier in the year
2011 VW GTI Canadian Spec - DSG, Luxury Package, Technology Package, 18' Detroit's with All Seasons, Rear Park Assist, Monster Mats, Tints, and Continental Snow/Ice Tyres on 16in Alloys
Had mine reflashed today at it's 1st service. Maybe it's me or just the fact that it's Friday, but it seems to me that the upchange on the DSG has changed, it's hanging on to 5 and 6 longer before going to 7 around town............ nice
Anyone else experienced this ?
Maybe your right foot is fraction heavier on a Friday?
