Thread: Couple of pre-delivery questions from Hobart!

Smile Couple of pre-delivery questions from Hobart!

    Hi all,

I've now ordered my Carbon Steel GTI here in Hobart, and the dealer let me know yesterday that it's slated for production in 3 weeks, with delivery mid- to late-June. But before it arrives, I have a couple of niggly questions:
    1. The manual gearshift -- do the red bits on that light up? They look illuminated in some of the photos (very Tron!) but it could be wishful thinking on my part.
    2. Updating the radio software -- is that by USB through the MDI interface?
    3. Is there a thread on here that deals with aftermarket air intakes, or at least the best sort of free-flow air filters (eg: K&N)?

    Thanks in advance!

Radio software has to be updated by disc i believe.
There are threads on mygti about it and in the audi section of our forum.

There are copious amounts of threads on air intakes.
You can also source them from oemplus or ecstuning.

On a semi-related note - I saw my first MKVI GTI with tas plates on the road in Hobart today... it was red

Which red bits are you referring to? The gear configuration on the top of the gear knob or something? :S

It was this pic (the larger version of it) that made me think the red inlays on the gearshift might be internally-lit:
