Last week had my car in for some warranty items and asked them not to wash my car. Guy at service desked gave me a puzzled look and said, 'so you like to wash your own car then'. Doh!! Gave him the raised eyebrows response and he chose not to ask any more questions.

I can go either way here but are you concerned or hoping I am asking you out?

Can you two get a room already.

    Back on topic...

If you saw the end result of the dealer washing my mums Fiesta without asking (even though it was raining ) you'd never get them to wash your car. After spending a weekend detailing it only a few months prior I was absolutely PO to say the least when I saw how bad the swirls they inflicted were.

Yeh took myself outside and shook myself. Now back on topic:

I think it's best to err on the side of caution and never get someone else to wash your car whether a dealership or carwash etc.

    Think logically but.

Say I drop my bush bashed Amarok for a service and they wash it up nicely (in their way. Nit mine) for example.

Your lovely golf or jetta or whatever gets washed right after with a sponge (*shiver*) that was just used just before collecting dirt from the 4wd. Followed with a lovely chamois which is also going to mar your new paintwork.

Never let a dealer wash your car. Simple.

I've seen what products they use (bulk) And know the products and some I wouldn't use at all full stop for new or used cars that come through for VAG services.

Leave a sign. And stop wasting your money at a dealer. Find a good reputable vw Audi specialist.
    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

So how do you assure warranty with a specialist..? I mean I have had warranty issues present 6 years after purchase and becuae I had a solid record with the service centre my $3000 claim for a rooted drive shaft was covered.. will a specialist do that

Easy... Go back to the dealer when you have a warranty claim. I can see why people would rather use a specialist. Had our Jetta in for $4500 worth of warranty repairs last week at the dealer and they couldn't even put the door trim back on correctly!! I hope to god they installed the mechatronic unit correctly😳. It makes me glade I use a VW specialist for servicing.
