    Clicking Clutch Pedal

My clutch pedal has started making a clicking sound at about 2/3 of the way down and makes the same click about 2/3 of the way back up. I don't think it is a lack lube as it is a click rather than a squeak. Has anyone else encountered this problem.

Yep, was from day 1 for me. There is a tpi or whatever they call those bulletins for a fix which they applied on mine, it is basically a piece of felt and different plastic clip. Problem solved for me. Only issue I now have is the pedal doesn't always return to fully out (about 5cm short sometimes), and, depending on mood,I will get foot under it to lift it, so the take up point is predictable each time. I was thinking of putting a stronger spring on it, but it is well hidden up behind knee air bag etc, so will require some trim pulling to resolve.

Sounds to me like the ball on the end of the clutch master cylinder has snapped off. Eventully, the pushrod wears away and bends out of shape, making it hard to get gears. Get it fixed as soon as possible.

It was brand new and doing it. The dealer tried to claim there is a switch in the clutch pedal and that was what I was hearing. But he dug around and found a tpi, which is to install a different clip and a shaped piece of felt (two parts come with the tpi when they order from VW).

Well now I feel like George aka Seinfeld , "for I am the idiot ".

So called fix for the click failed after a week , click returned on the clutch depression after 5 days and now has returned on the release today , this is doing my head in .

You need the VW fix, read here more about it: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/for...11412&p=100099

The dealer described it to me the same way,a bit of felt and altered clip. No clicking since.

Here is the TPI to quote them if they are clueless which it sounds like:

Here is I think what mine was, just lousy plastic movement, the felt bits resolve: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3A6sF6_...%3D3A6sF6_16kM

See if you can get a copy of the tpi, I have been trying to find it online with no luck. I laid down upside down on my drivers floor yesterday to try to spot the mod with no luck, I guess the felt is put on the sides of the white clip perhaps. I also can't see the spring at all, it almost seems you have to unbolt the pedal assembly to see that, to do this requires pulling off panel, knee air bag, air con duct and crash bar..
