Chrome Chipping off Exhaust Tips?

OIC
A few options:
paint them with heatproof paint in the colour of your choice.
Shine them up with fine wet'n'dry.
Go to an exhaust place & ask the guy for some suitable diameter stainless offcuts from his scrap bin & polish them up & have the exhaust guy tack-weld them on.
Go to exhaust place & buy from their selection of chrome tips
Go to car accessories place (SCA, Autobarn) and buy tips & fit.
Buy Genuine accessory tips from VW

I'm in the same boat with the Golf Cabriolet 118... VW skimped out a little on the exhaust, it just looks like the pipes come out and are cut... it just needs some chrome tips to finish it off... or.. you know... a new cat back system... :P

The Skoda is black tips. The dealer down in Wollongong was selling accessory tips cheap on ebay. I was tempted but then looked at the rest of the car & kept seeing a pig with lipstick on.......

Thanks for those ideas. I'll sort something out. Liked the look of the cf tips - would look great on my candy white car with the tinted windows

I have to say I'm not a fan of the whole pipe inside a pipe design of those carbon fibre jobbies, to me it just looks like you slipped on a cheap cover (although I'm sure those ones are not cheap).

I'm not looking for anything stand out bling, I just think the bare pipes look unfinished... I'm just hunting for something I like.

I like the idea of twin square, just not 100% convinced:

I've just bought a 2010 GTI and the chrome pipe covers (if that's what they're called) are very sooty. I've tried washing them using car wash detergent and a wheel brush but there are some very stubborn marks. What do you use?

I am using this one:

Autosol Metal Polish - 75ml - Supercheap Auto Australia

methol spirits

Mothers Chrome polish, it's good stuff. It works effortlessly and a little goes a long way. I got it from my local Supercheap.
