So I changed the low beam (H7) globes on my 103TDI and found the connection wasn't quite making good contact and had to use some masking tape to pull the globe housing (not sure of the proper name?) to one side to make proper contact and get the light to work.

Now I seem to be having battery trouble and after looking at the globe housing I can see that it has been shorting as the plastic has signs of arching/slight melting. I've recharged my battery outside the car and it was working fine again for some time.. But i've had to keep replacing the tape to get the light to fit properly and work at night.

I had the battery quickly checked by a guy at a battery place in Kensignton in Melbourne and he said the battery is fine.

I'm trying to find the part to replace inside the headlight housing but am coming up clueless.
