Hi everyone my wife,s golf is playing up ,the central locking button won,t always unlock the doors
it locks the doors fine ,everything works fine with the remotes . It probably started 2 to 3 weeks
ago and has been getting worse .
Would it be safe to presume a faulty switch and if so is it easy to replace yourself ,does the doorskin
have to come of or does the switch pop out from the top .
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks Theo

Presuming you've tried changing the battery in the remote?
Does unlocking via the door switch always work, or does that too exhibit an intermittent fault?
When it doesn't work, do you hear any noises at all?

It's the door switch that's the problem it locks the doors fine but wont always unlock them ,there's no clunk when it doesn't work as it normally does when central locking works correctly
Thanks Theo
Check the wiring where it passes through the rubber tube from jamb to door. It's finally been redesigned in the Mk 7.
Will definitely check that thanks
