Is the CAXA engine that bad?

As the title suggest... Is the CAXA engine as terrible as the feedback I'm getting?

My 1.4L 90Kw TSI (CAXA) had been loosing coolant (for about 3 months) I searched high and low and couldn't fine a physical leak, took it to my mechanic who suggested the coolant overflow, clean off the coolant residue and sent me on my way to monitor.

About a month later it was still using coolant and now the engine check light had come on so back to the mechanic fault was scanned P000A fault - Mechanics advise was to sell the car engine if effed.

Went to another mechanic for a second opinion to find out the seal has gone in the turbo pushing coolant into the inlet manifold resulting in coolant in the combustion chambers, oil was sticky and it appeared to have caused blockages in the oil passages so it worked out cheaper to throw a 2nd hand motor in. - yes i take full responsibility as if i had of taken it to the mechanics earlier I would not have ad so much coolant go into the oil (was using about 250ml a day in the end)

    Car had only travelled 71500Km

Cars back and running great, so i figured while I'm spending money on it I'll get an ECU tune...

Enquire with an APR dealer to be advised the engine terrible and he'd never recommended tuning a 1.4 as they have a lot of problems.

I've owned the car from new (2012) and it's a great little car very versatile fun to drive and economical, but now I'm concerned with this feedback for so call professionals do I cut and run?

So that's a yes the the engine is a POS?

If it's traded it won't be for another Golf, had a Mk5 TSI GT Sports that had waterpump/supercharger issues, now MK6 turbo issue leading to engine replacement all be it due to my own foolishness

If you want more reliable engine in your car switch to TDI, way less issues with them. Although, many issues in the TSI engines are maintenance related.
I see it as the car manufacturers select inappropriate servicing regimes, which are tailored to suit business or lease company requirements rather than private owners.

Ive got a CTH, and I dont think its much better. Water pump and timing chain all replaced before 65k. Nice when they work, but terrible durability.
