Castrol edge 5w30 LL or A3/A4 for mk6 gti

The oil consumption was reduced when I changed from a 5w-30 to a 5w-40 but it still consumed oil. The 5w-40 is slightly thicker when hot.

Yeah I’ve also noticed that too. Car runs smoother and it’s quieter at idle as well. I’ve only been using Castrol but I’ll try out Penrite one this time. Just going out for another drive around freeway to see if anything is different.

as soon as the GTI was out of warranty I went with Pennrite 10/10 5/40 and never looked back, it asks for 600mL every 5000km which is fair
