Can you turn off the seatbelt warning "ding"?

I drove my GTI short distances around a big holiday property lately and therefore didn't throw my seatbelt on at all.

I found that ding every single time to be incredibly annoying. It also persists for a verrrry long time unless you clip your belt in.

I always wear my seatbelt on the road, but is there a way of disabling that sound? Put simply, I know if my seatbelt is off or on.

I think it can be disabled via vagcom changes.

Might be able to do it through convenience menu if it is enabled on your stereo.

Have a look for vagcom changes or google it would be my suggestion.

Yeah - I have a friend who has to get out at the gate to his property, open the gate, then get back in and drive 1km up the private access road. He hates the ding too! It does eventually stop (at least on my Polo GTI) but you have to wait a while each time...

Just clip your seat belt in before you get in, and sit on it

Cheapest solution is to find someone in your area with a VagCom tool, ask them to borrow it/come over and do it for you.

Costs you a 6 pack of beer in most cases.

Yeah hate to sound like a silly old duffer but wasn't some guy killed a few months back after he crashed into his son or relatives on a farm access road??
