Buying a Second Hand MK 6 GTI.

Hi, my question has most likely been handled in a previous post so please feel free to direct me there.

We are looking at buying a 2012 GTI, with 55,000 ks.( to replace the 2011 118 tsi with 75,000 k. What are the issues to look for apart from the obvious like regular services etc. Did these models have a timing chain issue ?, are there any other glaring things to consider. thanks

Yes there is a timing chain tensioner issue, but was more common in MY10/MY11 models. (It's in the above link also)
Would recommend getting it scanned with vagcom/vcds as this will show you what errors have come up/are present, since not all errors come up with a Check engine light etc.
