lol.. you can bet on that. Basically cars ordered in Dec are being given April at the earliest. May is more likely so not too much further.
First cars will not begin being made until second week of Feb. Nice spec though - similar to my own and the pricing sounds fine. I think I ended up with about 11% off.

Actually that pricing sounds very cheap. Only difference between yours and mine is Leather and Nav, about $5500 + Stamp Duty in options.
However the difference is $8k between you and I (I paid $57k Drive away). I pushed my guys pretty damn hard so I dont know how you did just over $2k better again!

That's a very good price. You can't get close to that sort of deal over here on the west coast.
thank you, i spent 3 hours in a dealer, then he was pissed off my price and starting eat his noodle...(lunch) and ignore me totally, and the sales manager came out and point out if we want to secure the deal we must make decision now! by 48500, and even this price I will only get this car in July, i said fine, i go for my lunch then i come back afternoon.
then i took my gf drive to another dealer quickly, known as" beat everyone's price" (South Yarra VW), show my bargain sheet, and told him, beat it! i secure the car now! we took almost 2 hours neg. for price, he said 48500 is very cheap, cant do anything and even asking 49500, i refused!
later his manager came out told us, for this price, they are lost money, i did not believe, then he said to me "even you take this price back to Glen Waverley, they will tell you the car wont arrive before July, why? coz they can sell your car for profit! so, boy, you pay us 48750, i secure your april delivery, i may be in May or early April, but promise to you this car will arrive before your wedding!!"
i am happy with his words, and paid deposit and signed...

Sounds like they just did the deal to make the bare minimum amount of money and get you the hell out of their showroom. Who wants an annoying prat coming into their showroom for hours at a time hounding them for "big time best deal"? I'd prefer to go through life being nice to people and have them show me the same respect. At the end of the day, most people will negotiate with the dealer for the lowest price both parties are comfortable with - and they won't pay more than they can afford. Only the truly stingy or arrogant will try to squeeze every last cent out of a stone regardless of how they act.

Whilst I am happy for you and the deal you managed to obtain, I must agree with the above. Sounds like you really must have screwed them for everything they had in the vehicle - and its not even end of month. When I bought my car, I was very up front with them and made it clear that I wanted the best possible deal within reason and I didn't expect them to be severely out of pocket. In the process of negotiating they made comment about how hard up they were and I figured the deal we had was close enough to the best. It was only once I'd spoken to another dealer after signing (but within my cooling off period) that I went back to the dealer with whom i'd signed, and told them to better it or i'd take the deal elsewhere. They didnt kick up too much of a fuss and offered to drop $1500 or include another option to that value. In the end, I felt I might have pushed them a little too far but reading this, knowing you took another $2500 approximately from the dealer, I feel better.
The sales guy who I dealt with was awesome. He was very pleasant, patient and he knew his product well. I wouldn't want him to not make anything on a deal after the effort he put in so long as its reasonable.
