Sorry, dont know JMAC, where are they?
Thanks to all for your feedback

    Jmac is a forum member.
His company is Alba European and he is apparently mobile.
According to google his location is Runcorn.

    Thanks Coreying,
now that Ive re-read Trezas post I see he's (Alba European) listed as item 1 on the independents.
Will definitely be going to the independents if I have no warranty issues to resolve, the dub dealers are way too dear.
Thanks again to all for your input

Thanks team_v, your post came in as I was typing a reply to coreying

    No worries.
I will be taking my Tig to Jmac if it needs any non-warranty work as i have only heard glowing reviews of his work.

$300.50 for the GTI at Highway Auto for the 15K/12 month service so I'd expect the 118 TSI to be around the same.

$481 for the GTI at Highway Auto for the 30k/24 month service and $11 for the loan car.

    Might be worth ringing around.

I found Highway charged less than one of the independents for the 15k/12 month service so you'll find their prices are pretty competitive.

Thanks Maverick, I'll go back to Boettchers with this price and see what happens. I would have thought the charge out rate for whats basically an oil change would have been a lot closer.
Still, Springwoods a lot further to go than Ipswich for me. (But not $110 worth of fuel!!!) - I can do 1400ks on that money

Just some feedback on my service with Boettchers at Bundamba today.
Nothing but praise for the service given and the feedback from them.
A full comprehensive checklist and report was provided with the invoice for $360, which included (apart from the oil / filter change, which is what I thought the 15k service was), a wheel rotation and some minor extras which you could do without (didnt think to advise them of no washer suds/ oil / petrol additive etc)
A couple of warranty issues where also resolved, one of which was the creaking plastic in the B pillar. Apparently VW are aware of this and have a fix for it - resolved
One of my keys had ceased functioning fully and a new one has been ordered - resolved when key arrives.
The car was ready within 10mins of the nominated time given when I dropped it off.
All in all, one of my more satisfying service engagements in many years and many makes.
    Highly recommended

VW GTI Service Costs Recommendations Brisbane

About to book the car in for its first real service, and costs at VW Austral was $415, and Northstar was $426 (have 20% this month).
Does anyone have any recommendations of where I should take it or where you can get better value.

Hit up Jmac from Alba European who is on these forums.

He does log book servicing and does a FAR better job than the muppets at the dealership.
