when it comes to manlyness, im always up for filling some holes
You the man QTip, lol. Love how you've taken pic for evidence of your manlyness (is that a word). lol
Great job with the hole fill. Pretty much covers all the options now with how we deal with the ugly fugly OEM bracket. I would recommend Lakin brackets to finish the job off since you've gone to the effort and expense of filling the holes.
Hmmm you've got me thinkin now. Might sleep on it and see if I go down the same road of filling the holes.

not sure if this has been mentioned before, but i considered these when fitting my plates - to fill the unsightly dealership drilled holes. ended up not needing to because i bought covers that went over them.

I haven't seen anyone mention them before. Looks like an ok option for those who have the holes.
Should I get the Lakin plate holders?
My car is the one in this picture - I believe photo credit belongs to phaeton.
As you can see, I never got the OEM plate holder, so wonder whether there will be any fitment issues. I currently have SA Premium XX plates mounted into the dealer drilled holes on the front bumper - it works but looks a little strange. The holes where the OEM holder would've fit have been blanked out with some grommets.
I purchased the car privately, so didn't take much notice of the plate holder at the front as it came with the standard issue SA plates as in the picture below.
If I went for the Lakin holders, I'll finally switch to the Euro style plates.

I've purchased the front lakin bracket along with some slimline personalised plates. Will post pictures once I have it sorted.

So, by the end of it... is there a place in Sydney where I could go to get the euro plate holder removed for me?
Its bothering me more and more.
Put bluntly my skills lie elsewhere in life and I love the car too much to want to screw around with it myself..
Well... anyone who knows how to use a screw driver and or drill could remove it for you...
It's what you then intend to do which would guide your choice... use the plugs to fill the holes, have the holes professionally filled and bumper sprayed, tape the plate on, screw the plate on, lakin plate holder? etc
