Was more a case of trying to avoid paying the $495 fee for them hehe. I'll worry about them later if I can be bothered but I'd say the tightwad in me will live with the normal slimlines.

Oh, you NEVER avoid paying the fee for your rego/insurance/plates man. The dealers don't get any discount on that, so the entire cost is passed straight along to you. Therefore if you want to arrange your own plates and/or CTP, most dealers are fine for you to do that, you just subtract the plates and/or CTP cost from the quote and pay the insurance company and/or motoring agency directly instead of via the dealer.

But ignorance is bliss when they quote you a drive away price with them included I'm not sure the white ones are worth $495 let alone the black ones for $695. That is a fair chunk of mod money right there!

Cool Adam, looking forward to seeing the finished product. Will be some great photos as always hehe
Want to get that awful front plastic adapter off my car too, still deciding whether to change to standard euro
plates or keep personalised plates on, wont be selling with personalised ones though so will need to consider
something to accomodate standard plates for when the time comes also....sigh decisions, decisions.
Wouldnt have to worry if VW didnt put that stupid plastic adapter on to start with.
Thinkin' I need deeper pockets LOL

Personally I didn't like the Queensland euro style plates because you can only choose 2 letters and 2 numbers..must start with Q and must end in Z. So I went for something a little different. MMMMM Donuts lol

And these were only $465, no yearly fees or any of that nonsense up here. Although I hear our rego is more expensive too

i did want custom plates on mine - and went with euro in the end - not customised.... i orginally went to one of the WA dept of transport branches and discovered i had to wait around 6-7 hours in line to get to a person to order the plates..... absolutely riduclous.... so i left - im not too fussed, its incredibly expensive to get customs over here anyway, and with the $1,500 i save ill put that towards the mortgage

You can download the order form and post your application in so as to not have to wait in line for hours.
I agree though the Euro's can be expensive at $1400 but that's only if you have the Euro Premium. The standard Euro customs start at $585.

I'm still undecided whether to go for the Euro's or just white writing on black custom slimline plates as i think the black will go well with the front darkened grill and headlights and the rear black diffuser of the 'R'

Lol, don't worry if i go for prestige atleast 4 of the characters on our plates will be different.....actually if you are using your initials for the first two characters and going by your user name your first name also starts with D it may be only 3 characters different.

Don't forget you have Black wheels though..

The plate I have is taken from my login minus the characters from a road that is between Portsmouth to London .....

Are you picking your's up from Dermot @ Wangara by any chance??
