Yeah, still nothing listed for mine either:
Here are the next two ships leaving the Port heading to Australia. I am just praying my car doesn't go on the Torino as although it leaves earlier it takes over 2 weeks longer to get here!!!!

Received my full size Euro plate covers from Phil at Lakin today, the plate covers themselves seem to already have a slight curve to them which will hopefully match the curve of the plate holder and rear bumper.
Another thought i had though was seeing that the full size Euro plate covers the whole front plate holder would there be any issue in just removing the plate holder altogether and attaching the plate to the front bumper, surely the plate will completely cover the holes left from the holder.

Yes, it's very likely you could do this. However, make sure that you then utilise the existing holes in your bumper to determine where you drill holes in your plate. Since there's already 4 holes there, you don't want to add even more! This is actually one of the main reasons for the Lakin brackets - that they use the standard holes in your car, therefore not creating any more "damage"! (Or if there are no holes present, you can create them close enough in that they can be covered by a standard plate later on if the next owner doesn't want Euro plates).
I got the black Euro plates. Bonus is that the middle characters spell "BK", so I'm going to call her Black Knight
On another note, picking up my new black GTI 11.30am tomorrow.. Can't wait!!
Wouldn't be surprised if we saw a GTI or R with number plates that reads "FARTS"
I took delivery of my MY11 CW GTD yesterday and the salesman, a former panel beater, kindly fitted my full-sized Euro plates using Lakin brackets and covers. He said other staff were sceptical as he fitted them but all agreed the Lakin product was of the highest quality and the end result was excellent. Here are some shots taken with my phone camera. I have attempted to show the smoother fit of the front plate. We are delighted with the outcome and think it is about the best that can be achieved given the original factory fit front mount fiasco. Others may disagree, of course. This is my first attempt at posting images so here goes.
Looks good to me mate. I agree, that is way better than putting the plates on the standard VW plate holder. It doesn't matter whether you get the full sized plates or not, that stock VW plate holder looks like an after thought.
mate im sold....thanks
waited a while for these pictures and confirmed what i thought
now to order my LAKIN plates and remove the OEM plastic bracket...
cheers
