Yeah... from using my Woolworths card on normal spending for my groceries and fuel, I've received a few hundred in gift cards too. And I agree, Tuesday and Wednesday (until evening) are the lowest prices days now in Sydney (to reduce that issue of cars queuing onto the roads as Maverick mentioned), so it's less of an issue in Sydney at least in the past 6 months.

I would happily buy from BP, but like brad mentions, my local BP is always several cents more expensive per litre even BEFORE the discounts I receive (which as I said before, can be as much as 14c per litre).

Oh, and in regards to the BP CitiBank card, that's not a bad deal if you purchase your fuel soley from BP.
It costs $79 per year, but you get 5% off fuel and instore purchases at any BP outlet. So say the BP Ultimate is $1.50, then you get 7.5c per litre off. If you put 45L of fuel in your Golf each week, then that is $175.50 per year - or almost $100 in saving after the annual fee.

The cheap day changed to Wed/Thu in Sydney about 2 months back.

I think it was on the news that I saw them telling people cause many were still lining up on Tuesday's.

Thursday? What parts of Sydney are cheaper on Thursday?

From Windsor to Parramatta to Pennant Hills (and the area covered by that 'triangle') it seems that if you leave it too late on Wednesday to fill up then you get the most expensive price all week. Then by Sunday afternoon it's falling again.

For a long time its been Tuesday, but recently I heard (as I said above) that it was switched to Thursday.

Personally what i've noticed is that Wed evening is the cheapest.

They're idiots here in Queensland, any savings on fuel will be lost on how much they use idling and time spent waiting

Plus Tuesday seems to attract all the bright ones who put their cars into positions the block many others cars and make the problems worse, not sure is that it's because the people that flock to cheap Tuesday are stupid or that the general population if forced to visit the servo in one group would do that

I'm inclined to go with the people that flock to cheap Tuesday up here, idle for 20+ minutes and block roads are selfish morons. I CBF screwing around like that and just fill my car up when it needs it, I'm not going to check prices at different servos for a few days prior to refilling.

Since I've had my Mk6 GTI I've used nothing but Shell V-Power, I was actually curious to see what other people were using in their GTIs. I intend on trying out BP ultimate for a few weeks starting next week to see if any differences can be felt.

I've had my GTI for just over a month and I'm only using BP Ultimate.

    I've filled up a few times and I'm logging the details into my phone. So far;

    Average L/100: 9.91
    Best L/100: 9.37
Average KM per Fill Up: 516.33

Would be interested to see what others get too

I'm using Caltex 95 in my MkVI GTI - 4 fills so far and best economy was 7.4l/100km (mixed city and country driving) and the worst was the first one - 9.3l/100km.

I'm curious about BP Ultimate but have no station near me. I don't know whether I really believe there is a notable difference but would love an independent study (like CHOICE) to do some proofing for us.

So I've done around 1300kms in mine now, dont drive it every day, and have used solely Shell V-Power.

Average fuel for the past ~460km has been around 8.2l (solely Sydney City driving)
Average overall - 10.2l (this includes one GTG and some spirited driving mind you)

Funnily the more I drive the better the fuel economy seems to get, but this I think is pretty normal.

    Impressive numbers there

Best single trip I've done got me 6.4l/100km. Tulla Fwy then onto the Eastern Fwy.

Can't help myself, I gotta give it a squirt when I get a chance.
