The GTI comes in the same Candy White, Reflex Silver and Deep Black Pearl tones that the TSI/TDI's do. They substitute the United Grey for Carbon Steel Metallic. The only colour is Tornado red.

Again - two 'sports' models, only a single colour in each, that's pretty damn boring!
Just have a gander on the Volkswagen UK site, more colors there then the ones you've stated.

To everyone who thinks the color selection is boring - what other colors would you suggest or like to see? Its all too easy to complain about the lack of color selection, but when push comes to shove I think you'll find it a struggle to find additional colors that would suit the Golf as well as the existing palette.

We all know that red is the only colour but for the sake of ease of description perhaps they can all be called colours........................................... .....

Dude - use the Germany Golf GTI Konfigurator! There are like 40 odd colours!

Might be a silly question guys, but do you get the Deep Black + (Pearl Effect as an option at extra cost), or is the Deep Black by default the Pearl Effect? In which case, if you didn't want to pay extra for paint or didn't negotiate it into the deal, you could only get the Candy white?

Deep Black Pearl is just that, there isn't an option for Black without Pearl in AU. The Pearl is treated as a "metallic" paint, thus an option, and your right about the CW.

I've seen a couple of black 118tsi's in the last couple of days, and have to admit that I thought the black would look much better in person. Probably didn't help that one of them was quite dirty, and the driver couldn't park (was parked across the line at an angle). The other one was cleaner, but was driving next to a Black Mazda 3 (previous model). The detail of both cars was lost because of their colouring, and they both just looked like black hatches.

Or red. Tornado Red and Candy White are the only non-option (non-metallic, non-pearlescent) colours currently available for the MkVI GTI.

I concur with those voted for CW. CW looks classy and MK6 design goes well with CW - CW brings out the meaner looking design of MK6. Though, my golf is Deep Black Pearl because my previous Honda and current Polo are silver. This time, I wanted to get something dark and my partner also wanted black (although, I will be driving the golf).
