Barloworld GTI Driveaway price???

Check out today's SMH Drive section, page 25 (14 May)...

Barloworld has the 5Dr GTI DSG for $40,490 D/A!!! I guess they forgot to add the $2,500 door the DSG!

Surely a misprint? Anyone after a cheap DSG GTI... get the Ad and take it down there! I tried to post a photo of the Ad, but not too sure how to post photos to the forum (if someone could let me know how to do it, that would be great!). It's only on vehicles in stock apparently...

There appears to be some sort of "free on road" special going on at the moment with select models.

I noticed it across a few models this morning while looking at Carsales, mind you I haven't seen any details... like is it only cars in stock? (or delivered by a certain time)? Still it's there for those out shopping right now

There is a Free On Roads deal at the moment, for cars in stock and delivered before June 30... but a 5DR GTI DSG would normally be $42,990 plus ORC, so $40,490 (which is the Manual price) D/A is quite cheap, especially if you can snag a 2011 build!

I suspect it's a misprint... but I would love to know if anyone actually picks one up for this price! I suspect that GTI's might be a bit thin on the ground!

Awesome price indeed if you get a 2011 as mentioned! Mine was $42k D/A but alas, 2010 build.

If they were thin on the ground then they wouldn't be included in the sale (as the R and GTD are excluded)

I did notice some of the things excluded are interesting...

Like the 118 Manual is in, the DSG is out. Maybe you're spot on with the thin on the ground thing.

just a note, i paid $40660 for a 3dr white man gti with bt, mdi in march delivered in may. but for me, i would gladly pay a premium for a 3dr over a mpv/ bread van

Just a quick note... did some ringing around, Mascot seems happy to sell the car at $40,490 (they have a White 5DR DSG with MDI in stock) but Five Dock are saying it is a Misprint... but will "work something out".
