I haven't read through all the replies, but was this ever resolved? I can hear a little "ticking" sound from my GTI's B-pillar too, and think it's probably heat expansion (it only happens when the pillar's in the sun). Strange, but true...
much better....good to see you`re the usual sarcastic, conceited fellow you usually are...must be nice to know every single thing about every car ever made...takes you far in life...
and thanks for helping define realistic vs unrealistic for everyone in this forum...I`m sure we all have the exact same beliefs and definitions

Hey mate, yes it was, see my summary here
Maverick and ktrianta, please just agree to disagree and move on.
Ahh, cool. Yeah, doesn't bother me that much... I'm actually surprised there's a "fix"!
Thanks guys.
Are the dealers meant to know about this noise? I brought my car in last time to fix the dripping rear washer (which is still dripping even though it's supposedly fixed) and also told them about this clicking noise on the B pillar, but they somehow traced it to the door locks? They lubricated the locks for me but then again the B pillar is still clicking every now and then. It does look like it is due to the heat as Johnson4 has mentioned.

Having read the great concern re B pillar 'ticking' and 'rear washer dripping' can I assume these are mostly related to the GTI?
Is perhaps one of the problems due to the car being otherwise very quiet? (Still waiting for my Golf on order)
Many years ago had Renault 1600TS (Gee I miss that car) very quiet on smooth road. To the point, could hear clock ticking!

as far as I know, it`s happening on all golf models, as other non GTI drivers have been mentioning it too

I hate this thread. Always listening now for any noise, think I may have heard the clicking noise for the first time today at approx 1200km.
hi all
my 2008 Golf V 3-door GTI is making the rubber squeak noises when I turn into inclined driveways at low speed.
The car was just serviced at VW last week, but the problem is still there.
Does the lubricating of the rubber seals help? If so, is it just 'covering up' the actual problem of why the doors are moving at all?
I've never had this problem on previous cars, including 2-door cars...
