Gummi Pfledge is fine on the felt...
Further investigation results:
It seems that the rubber seal(s) is not the culprit of the issue; its the felt seal found around the top of the door frame.
The test to prove this is to wet the felt seal with water and close the car door.
Then press onto the top frame of the door and you won't hear any squeaks.
As soon as the felt dries, the squeaks are back in action...
I'm still deciding on whether to use the Gummi Pfledge on the felt or look for an alternative.
Another thing I did (yes, I might've looked like the shady person trying to break into cars) was to go around the car park at work and try the same test on the two GTi's that are parked there (its ok, I know the owners)... Both these cars produce the same noise, however their owners have never heard the sounds...
That just means they are not as picky as me

Gummi Pfledge is fine on the felt...
I have used the Gummi Pfledge several times now and it does remove the noise after each application. Unfortunately it is not a permanent cure, the squeaks will come back and I have to reapply. I have used it on the felt w/o any issues.

i have the 2 door gti...
first i could hear the rattling on drivers side..near the door..
then i hear another tick tick tick noise..even when i turned off the car..
so i traced the noise, and it seems to be coming from the plastic b piller...when u press against it..it makes little BUT annoying tick tick tick noise...
are these the problems everyone is experiencing?
i have noticed alot of ppl use Gummi pflege to remove the noise.
is that for the bpillar noise or the rattle from the door hinges?
i've read through the entire post, keeps mentioning applying on rubber seals..? can someone post a pic? that would help...
because my door doesn't have seal?
it's just the metal door hinges....and where do u apply on the bpilllar?
There is no rattle from the door hinges and the b pillar noise has been mentioned throughout the thread as being the cover is loose.
The rubber seals are those that run around the door and around the door frame on the car.i've read through the entire post, keeps mentioning applying on rubber seals..? can someone post a pic? that would help...

the door seals...from what i hear is rattles..
i dun see how rubber can be rattling? especially soft rubber.
Rattles are nothing to do with the seals, the seals cause a creaking mainly as you enter and leave driveways when the car body is twisting. If you do have rattles they are something else, the b pillar noise is something to consider but you can read about others experiences in this thread as well as how to replicate the noise.

the rattles sounds like from the door hinges...the lock..
does the Gummi pflege fix the door hinges?
Sorry alphabeatsco, I merged your thread here but didn't have time to explain.
Basically we have a lot of people who think they have a rattle in the door, and then it turns out to be the B Pillar trim. Or they have a squeak in the trim and it turns out to be the seals. Or they have a squeak and it turns out to be a "not quite yet rattle" in the door or B pillar, lol
Cars are a terrible environment for determining noise origination, so we group them together because it gives people the 3 most common possibilities if they think the "noise" is coming from the "general door area".
Look at each one and determine what it is.
No, Gummi pfledge will only fix noises coming from the seals (both rubber and felt). If you definitely have a rattle, then determine whether it is the door or the B Pillar. There are instructions (and last time I looked pictures) on how to fix both. Since both of those require some dismantling of your car though, you may want to visit the dealer...
