Thanks for that info, good timing. My Gummi Fledge just arrived and I should be applying it soon. May I ask how you applied it? Any special precautions when applying it on the door felts?

Thanks. Was wondering about the felt part on top part of door edges.

Someone else recommended using this $3 job.

Gummi Fledge should be applied to both the felt and the door rubber. I did it on a sunny day, and wiped all door rubbers with a damp cloth. Let them dry (which was v quick) then just ran the GF around the edges, medium speed. Obvious wet mark where it was applied, then I let it dry and that was it. Lasted about 6 months before i 'thought' I may be hearing it again so did another application. Four doors took about 20 minutes and worked a treat. Not much you can do incorrectly to be honest.

I did the same steps as slipshot mentioned. Except I didn't let it dry and drove the car out for dinner straight. Surprisingly it worked.

My next aim is to fix the rattle coming from rear passenger door. I could hear it very clearly when I am turning left or on rough road surfaces.
Brought it to the dealer and they removed the door and put it back. But the rattling is still there.
If I press against the door panel even with little pressure, the rattling is not there.
Suspect might have some loose wires inside the panel.
Tried to remove the door but don't have the right tools and knowledge..

I applied the Gummi Fledge yesterday after car had a good wash and dried. I applied it to all the rubber around the body of the car and the rubber and felt on all the 4 doors. Left it for an hour or more and took it for a drive. Came back with a big grin. The car is once again blissfully quiet (except the tyre noise on rough roads, which is another known feature). Today I took the car out for several longer drives and the squeaks are gone. Hope it will remain that way. I use the Armor All car wash. I suspect this is probably not the best for the Golf rubber sills. I am not sure if the squeaks will come back again after another wash. Any recommendations on what car wash to use on the Golf would be much appreciated. Thanks for all the info on Gummi Fledge. Would definitely recommend it. I am glad I did not take it in to the dealer for Krytox. The Gummi Fledge was easy to apply, not messy at all.

Duragloss 902 in the 3.8L size. It comes in a smaller size, but it's not cost effective.

Another one I love is the Dodo Juice Supernatural Shampoo. It seems incredibly expensive until you realise that it's concentrated 1500:1 - making it far better value than the Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild or the Duragloss 902 in the small container.

You are likely to find more opinions in the detailing sub-forum.

That (Armor All Wash & Wax) was what I used and the squeaks appeared. Never use them again.

I have a different noise as well as the door seals. Well, the seals are good now after some washing/cleaning, BUT there is a plastic on plastic squeak that I swear is coming from head height, right in the middle of the space above the rear footwell. Now, as it's an air space, it's obviously an audio illusion, but just WHAT could be squeaking?
