B Pillar clicking / ticking & door rubber / seal creaking / squeaking

My wife's car just developed it, after 1000kms.

Is VWSP's "fix" a known VAG fix?

I'm not sure if I will be writing about the same thing you are all referring to (perhaps not), but I sometimes get a soft ticking sound right at the B pillar, and I'm pretty sure I know what the source is, as my first MkVI didn't do it, but my current one does.

Quite simply, I think the window tinting I have causes the ticking when the sun is shining directly on that side of the car (happens to both sides, only when sun is baking it). My guess is it is expansion of the glass as the sun warms it (on the assumption that the tinting is absorbing some of the heat), because if I press hard against the glass right near the B pillar as this is happening, I get the exact same sound, although at a higher rate depending on how hard I press. My first Golf didn't have tinting, and I'd never heard it with that one.

I think this is a pretty common problem - lots of talked about it on here. My problem was fixed by the dealer "insulating" the external shiny black B pillar trim. The noise has not returned

I've heard others have had the shiny black B pillar trim replaced (mine wasn't replaced). I think some have also had other noises around the B pillar so double-check to make sure you talking about the same noise.

For instance, my car has just developed what sounds to me like a short 'cracking' noise from around the drivers side b pillar/door latch area when going over uneven road. It sounds like the door latch might just need some lubrication. It's a short jab of a noise rather than a rattle or squeak.

... so difficult to describe noises!!!

I had this noise and had it successfully fixed last week. There is a TPI on this issue and the problem is caused by the door locks - the fix being to grease them.

I didnt believe it when i heard but it has stopped the clicking.

I have a problem like this on about 1 out of every 10 trips. I initially thought it was the left A pillar trim. I'll keep the door locks info in mind.

Guys,
A weird one for you all.
Since having my Golf 6 for 3 weeks i have this ticking noise coming from both drivers side and passenger side windows.

There is tint film on windows

it only seems to be when there is direct sunlight on the windows.

has anyone else experienced this ??

Yes. I mentioned it somewhere in the (long) thread about rattles (not that I expected you to see it there). My car is tinted too, and my un-tinted one didn't do it.
