You can say whatever you like but it doesn't change that fact that your assertion that there are widespread problems with components coming loose is based on nothing but your experience with a loose heater box. Nor does it change the fact that you purchased a car that starts at $25K and is the Corolla of Germany so your assertion that you purchased an expensive premium car are also incorrect. Cars have thousands of parts and sometimes these make noises, the more complex the car and the harder it is to resolve them.

Two other people I know have the rattle in the same place as mine and there taking their cars back .One will be keeping his car for 12 months then he will off load it before things get worse .The other person not sure what he will do ,I myself will keep the car for the term of the lease after that I don't know.
Guess what not every body who's bought a Golf or GTi is a forum member .

Yep that makes sense, for a minor rattle that the dealer will rectify offload the car after 12 months and take the huge hit.

Guess what not every body who's bought a Golf or GTi is a forum member .
And? Perhaps you'd like to let everyone know that the sky is blue?

What percentage of forum members actually have a problem? It's very small especially when you take into account that people join up to vent. I know plenty of people with Golfs who have no problems at all or where they do have a minor issue they get the dealer to sort it out. Like everything some people will have no problems, some will have problems and some will blow a tiny issue out of all proportion.

Ahh.. Maverick. The Forum brawler. Man, someone has a rattle, its annoying, and its not getting fixed. Try and show some understanding. People who are passionate about their cars are the ones who tend to notice things like rattles, inconsistencies in the car.

And they can come to a forum and discuss both bad and good points of the car.

Maybe even get support and positive ideas.

Not some smart $$$, at every $$$$$$ comment, type response, man.

I dont see how this guy does not get told to be more helpful.

PS the dealer should fix that. My Subaru, yeah that povo jap brand, fixed ALL rattles immediately for the first year. Which they explained was part of all car warranties for at least the first year.

Really? How do you know? Ohh, I keep forgetting, your Maverick. You have some magical access to every VW made in the world, and to all their owners as well.

You see, Maverick doesn't understand sympathy...he only cares about himself. He keeps trying to convince us that we should join his "live with it, event though you just forked out $60k for the car" cult. To some of us, that may be a lot of money. You know, if I'm to expect rattles in a car as I drive them because of a stiff suspension and 18" wheels, I'd also expect the salesman to relay that information over to me before I signed the contract to purchase. Guess what? They didn't mention anything.

Mav, if you have so many issues with us complaining about rattles, etc....why don't you just do us a favour and skip past these posts....please, spare us your two cents...we don't want to read your smart ass comments every single time we post anything.

    Seacrest out....

Take it easy, it's true we are a fussy lot but they are still cheap cars in the scheme of things (just not in Australia). Wouldn't expect it from BMW or Audi though which is what i'd be looking at next time. Agree that it is annoying but things are also blown out of proportion on forums etc.

Plenty of Golfs have no noises and the owners are happy, some Golfs have noises and the owners are happy for the dealer to fix it and a small minority .... well....
    You cant be serious right?
So you think some forum members "actually want or seek out problems/noises"
Or do I have this out of context....I am sure you will "correct me" anyway.
Maybe more members would share more experiences on this forum, if they didnt
often get jumped on because their "opinion" was not the same as yours?

Members should be able to share their experiences without risk of being flamed or
belittled by anyone, surely the "forum rules" apply to all of us
We are all at different levels of knowledge, that should be okay too?
Sometimes its better to say nothing than to be unkind.....

There are so many helpful threads on this forum, and I enjoy learning from them
and seeing members help problem solve when the need arises

The truth is somewhere in the middle, see the 2 post up: " in the internet forums it gets blown out of proportion" I have to agree with that.

As far as the forum rules go, we shouldn't also aggravate each other. Some people should re-read the rules from time to time.
I think that you (anyone really) can actually achieve more when acting politely and with respect to each other.
