    Aftermarket cruise control

Well, after driving around California in a car with cruise control for two weeks I've realised how much I miss having it in the Golf. Something I REALLY should have thought about when I bought it but oh well.

Have any of you guys had an aftermarket system installed, or a genuine VW system retrofitted, and if so, who did you go with?

I take it that you have the 77TSI as all the others have it as standard according to the manual.

The genuine one displays on the MFD and has the toggles and switches on the indicator stalk, it is listed as a Dealer fitted accessory, though would hate to know how much they would charge you :S

Does anyone have the radar-cruise-control (slows down to match speed of cars in front)? Haven't heard anything about that feature since reading a Golf brochure.

It's called Adaptive Cruise Control. But it hasn't been offered on the Golf as of yet (unless it's in Germany)

The Adaptive Cruise is very impressive technology; in Australia it's an option on the Passat CC.

Yeah I know - I didn't want to confuse anyone with the other ACC (sport/comfort suspension settings), or did have a slightly different acronym (Monday-itis kicking in).

It does surprise me sometimes how features like this and park assist make their way into VW cars fairly early when I'd generally expect to find them on cars like the Merc S-Class or BMW 7 series, etc. I don't think they even have Park Assist yet - Bently (VW) was the first car to feature it (at least according to Top Gear, who we all know to be a "factual" program)
