    90 TSI Water Cooled Intercooler

    Hi all,

I have read that the 90 TSI engines have a water cooled intercooler fitted. It is apparently independent of the engine cooling system.

Does anyone know if they are a sealed system or are we supposed to check levels?? refill??

I can't find any reference to it in the manual...or am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Pete

According to VW's self study material for your engine, although the intercooler and turbocharger use a separate radiator and cooling system to the rest of the engine, it shares the same coolant reservoir with a check valve and restrictor used to minimise the flow of hot coolant from the engine to the intercooler/turbo cooling system.

So only one reservoir to check.
