There is nothing in the owners manual about that you can't change oil earlier than 15,000 km.
Or did I mis something?

I did think about changing it then (I have with every other motor I've built or bought). Time will tell - if it starts to show signs of wear by the time I get to 150000 (about 5 years) which is where I plan to sell it, it will be my first and last VW. Its one thing to not put an early oil change into the schedule, but completely another to effectively prevent you from doing preventative maintenance.
Its here!

My experience was that Dealers A & B say 7500km for the first service (ie oil change) yet Dealer C said 15,000km for the first service. Confused? Yes I certainly was, so I had the oil changed at 7500km by a non VW garage who was meticulous in ensuring that the correct oil was used. I'm up to 10,000km+ now and yesterday I had a call from VW Wangarra reminding me that according to their records the 15,000km service was due. Not yet it's not, but I'll be taking it up to them for that service when it is due.

I did oil change on my T5 @ 2500km and at approx. 38,000km under warranty they replaced leaking crankshaft rear oil seals.
And seriously, if car is 12 month old and hasn't done enough km you can change oil in engine.
I like keeping my cars for long time and early oil change can make a lot of difference. There are still car manufacturers that do FIRST oil change at 1000km or 1500km.
That's why you see so many Honda and Toyota cars with high mileage and engines in good condition.

Honda are on 5,000km oil change intervals aren't they? That would be 5 services a year for me.
Toyota are every 10,000km/6 months?
Bulletproof simple engines, well made, generally no timing belt and most are free spinners so if they do break, no dramas.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
I fixed the typo in my post above the first oil change is at 1000 km and than every 10,000km and filter every 20,000km on Honda (Jazz)

Honda used to recommend 5000km oil changes for their high performance vtec engines - I'm guessing that it is all 10,000kms these days. Toyota and Mazda are 10,000km/6 months, which ever comes first.
