Hey guys,
looking to get a 42DD downpipe for my Mk6 GTI and came across this. Do you guys have the alum/steel pipes or stainless?
I was looking at this same setup, resonated with cat, into stock cat-back - just not sure of material type.

No need for a resonated downpipe on a Mk6 GTI as they have a resonator built into the catback section from factory (unlike the R which does not). So save yourself the cash and get a non-resonated downpipe for your GTI. I have the EuroJet downpipe on my MK6 GTI and the fitment is perfect - its about 5 years old now and has never had a single issue nor has it needed to be adjusted etc etc.
This is not my car, but you can see some pics of the EuroJet downpipe here: Eurojet 3" Downpipe installed :)
The SPM/EuroJet downpipe is the best fitting downpipe for the Mk6 GTI, with the CTS close behind. I would never buy another 42DD downpipe after the issues i had with mine. It was rubbish.

I had no issues with my pipe, but will echo Lucas' sentiment about going non-resonated - it added a touch extra growl under heavy acceleration but otherwise barely noticeable.
