Not sure if it is just for Passat's, however the system is called KESSY.

As for the starter button, it looks Photoshoped!

Actually in addition to the R, there was actually a Mk 6 GTI at the Frankfurt Motor show last year with LED rear lights and push button start.... this really got the guys and gals on the UK forum excited and further fueled speculation about VW adding these features in future GTI model revisions...
As per Coreying's comment, I don't think there has been anything official from VW about introducing the push button start/stop as standard kit

2010 Mk6 GTI - Candy White, Park Assist + RVC, Dynaudio, MDI, R LED Tail lights
i can't see any dramatic cost increase on start/stop button and led tail lights...it'll be great if they can provide these tech
I think LEDs are available as an option for GTI in Germany (E350) but are not available in UK.
LED tail lights can be purchased as parts via internet but they are very exy. Also because they draw less power a fault will show up in the MFD as the system thinks the bulbs have failed. Apparently there is a wired in fix for this (from Fiscon?) but for some reason it only suits left hand drive cars.
Although they are available in Germany, I can't see the LED's being offered in the Mk6 GTI in Aus as the R is getting lots of criticism for not standing out enough already and the LEDs are one key point of difference. I suppose it will depend on whether the R's sell like hot cakes or can't be shifted.
What's all the to-do about "push to Start" anyway?
The first car I ever owned (1923 Dodge 4) had it — it was what you did when the crank handle didn't work...
Hi Guys
Just wondering, seem as a few are sussing out getting a gti and are curious if the 2011 built model will feature some new additions etc...
Has this been done by vw before in the past?
When the MK V GTI came out, in 2004/2005, did the next years model of the MK V GTI have some improvements/additions feature wise, etc?
Thanks
